Born & raised in West Auckland, NZ to a solo-mother family of 3 children, growing up, money was really hard to come by. When I was in high school, my form teacher Ms Martin chose me for a scholarship so that I could go to University. Unbeknownst to Ms Martin, that one decision went on to change the trajectory of my life. For a kid from humble beginnings, it was not just the financial help that put me through school; it was also the belief Ms Martin had in me & my potential that caused a ripple effect on my life. 

I went on to open Moustache when I was just 21 years old, working 3 jobs while attending university full-time to save up enough. And now it is my turn to pass the blessings on to someone else. This is why I want to launch a $14,000 scholarship to pay homage to the 14 years Moustache has been open. At its heart, this is about giving deserving Kiwis with real potential the extra resource or push they may need to succeed.
